UKWMS – Senin (11/08/2025) – Suasana semarak dan penuh antusiasme menyelimuti Ballroom Widya Mandala Hall, Kampus Pakuwon, saat Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya (UKWMS) menggelar acara pembukaan Pekan Pengenalan Kampus (PPK) tahun akademik 2025/2026. Ribuan mahasiswa baru dari berbagai kampus Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya (UKWMS)—Kampus Dinoyo, Kampus Kalijudan, Kampus Pakuwon, hingga Kampus Madiun—berkumpul dalam satu acara megah dan meriah yang menandai langkah awal mereka di dunia perkuliahan.
Kegiatan ini merupakan agenda tahunan UKWMS yang bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan lingkungan kampus, nilai-nilai universitas, serta membangun semangat kebersamaan antar mahasiswa baru dari berbagai program studi dan latar belakang.
Acara dibuka secara resmi oleh Rektor UKWMS apt. Sumi Wijaya, S.Si., Ph.D.yang dalam sambutannya menyampaikan pesan inspiratif kepada para mahasiswa baru agar memanfaatkan masa perkuliahan untuk mengembangkan diri, baik secara akademik maupun karakter.
“UKWMS bukan hanya tempat belajar ilmu, tetapi juga tempat menempa kepribadian, kepemimpinan, dan semangat pelayanan. Kami percaya kalian adalah generasi yang akan membawa perubahan,” tutur Rektor dalam pidatonya.
Rangkaian acara pembukaan juga dimeriahkan oleh talkshow bersama alumni, berbagai penampilan seni, video profil kampus, serta pemaparan program-program unggulan dan kegiatan kemahasiswaan. Momen ini menjadi kesempatan emas bagi mahasiswa baru untuk mulai mengenal identitas universitas, membangun relasi, dan menyesuaikan diri dengan budaya akademik di UKWMS.
Para mahasiswa baru terlihat antusias mengikuti jalannya acara, mulai dari registrasi hingga sesi motivasi dan pengenalan unit kegiatan mahasiswa (UKM). Tak sedikit dari mereka yang mengabadikan momen ini melalui media sosial, menandai awal perjalanan mereka sebagai bagian dari keluarga besar UKWMS.
PPK UKWMS 2025 akan berlangsung selama beberapa hari ke depan, dengan agenda kegiatan yang mencakup pengenalan fakultas, program studi, layanan kampus, unit kegiatan mahasiswa, hingga pelatihan soft skills untuk mendukung kesiapan mahasiswa menghadapi dunia perkuliahan dan masa depan profesional.
